30-year fixed rate at 5.7%; 10-year Treasury yield at 4.53%

Long-term mortgage interest rates barely moved Tuesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield edged up to 4.53 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average gained to 5.7 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate stayed at 5.43 percent. The 1-year adjustable dipped to 5.33 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield was up at 4.66 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.

In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 157.18 points, or 1.3 percent, finishing at 12,207.59. The Nasdaq was up 44.46 points, or 1.9 percent, closing at 2,385.14.
